England u21’s denied a place in World Cup final by Germany as they lose on penalties

England were unable to reach the final of the u21’s World Cup after they were beaten in their semi-finals by Germany.

The score was 2-2 at full-time after Germany’s equaliser from substitute Platte in the 70th minute.

Both teams missed chances to win the game in extra-time so penalties followed.

With the score being 3-3 it was very nerve-racking for the last two takers, Nadiem Amiri and Nathan Redmond.

Amiri took first, sending it low into the corner giving Pickford no chance.

With England’s World Cup hopes resting on his shoulders, there was huge pressure on Nathan Redmond.

But his shot was saved by hero Pollersbeck, to break England’s hearts.

This was famously the third time that England have lost a semi-final against Germany.

However the future of English football is still very positive with the u17’s reaching the Euro finals and the u20’s winning the World Cup.
